Went shopping at Queensway after lunch at Mei Ling Street hawker centre. Looking for shoes and jeans for Clem and Cleo. Of late I have been paying for clothes and shoes for these two boys especially Clem. He kinda shot up suddenly looking incredulously funny in his current T-shirts. He now towers over me at 1.78m. "Mom, i am very easy, no problem looking for what I need." was his assurance to me. Guess what. The shopping spree took more than one and a half hours with us going into every shoe shop in the centre. He finally settled for a size 11 sports shoe and a size 30 jeans. Size 11 and i think he will still grow. Chrys tells me that Joel Yong and the "Twin Towers" in TM wear size 14 and whenever they go scouting for shoes, they have to ask the sales staff what design/s comes in size 14. With Clem's diagnosed Marfan Syndrome, he will most likely remain tall and lanky even after adolescence. I just hope he will put on some more "meat" on his tall frame cos right now he really looks perpendicular (like what Chrys says). As for Cleo, his turn will come i believe in two years time. When that happens, i will be the shortest being in the Chua household.
The other challenge i am currently facing is learning how to exercise much patience and restraint in communicating with Clem. I believe he is in the era of the rebellious years where most times I feel myself talking to the wall than him. He entertains strange ways of reasoning which i find difficult to stomach. When that happens, i just shut up and remain fairly quiet. "O God i really need lots of grace to go thru this phase of his life and limitless tons of love and patience for him".
