My scheduled short trip to HK with TC is finally here last Friday. As usual, we started packing our stuff on Thursday night at about 9.30pm. Lo and behold to our shock, we discovered i have only one month on my passport before expiry. Our faces went blank and gasp... oh oh our trip might be wasted after booking our air tickets and accomodation online! Being me, I just remained fairly silent as I continued my packing thinking in my mind that well God since You allowed us to secure the air travel and rooming in the desired dates, surely You will somehow make it possible for me to go. Yet on the other hand, TC was preparing my heart what if it turned otherwise - let's be prepared for the worst.

The next morning, we drove down to Immigration at 7.45 am and the queue entering the building snaked round the entire building. My heart kinda dampened when I saw that because it will really take a long while to get to my turn with this kind of crowd. How wrong I was! I was given a queue number to see an officer in charge and in just over one hour, I was given approval to travel on a single trip to HK on a separate document which I just have to pay $15.00 and I have to return, collect my pass at 11.30am. Elated that this turned out positively, we went home to finish our packing and head to airport at the designated time. What a relief it was to both of us! This incident brought home to us a resounding reminder that "if the Lord wills" nothing is impossible. This also assured us that the rejection of TC's INFOCUS job a day before is not God's will although he came very close to being the selected incumbent.

Another interesting incident happened to me in SQ flight where I was seated next to a 53-year old lady by the name of Wynn Teo. A bubbly, vivacious single lady who kept talking to me throughout the journey. Though she did most of the talking, I was given the opportunity to exercise my listening ears and I was pleasantly entertained by her stories. In addition to this, halfway during the flight, I discovered my canvas bag which was placed on the floor was soaking wet.

Shocked that this has never happened to us on SQ flights, I began to wonder if there was a leak in the plane or whether is sewage water. It was quite a hoo-ha as the leading stewardess and steward came to apologise and assured us the ground staff will look into how to "compensate" us for the incovenience caused. We were ushered to the ground admin team and after filling in some forms and negotiating, we got a compensation of HK$200.00. Not a lot of money but yet another working of the Lord. We used the money to buy a blazer for Chrystal since it was her bag that got wet.
